The Vendor Complaint Policy -The Why, The What, and The How (CPE)
Most vendor disputes are solvable. Too often, school districts never see the lawsuit coming. When there is a warning at all, it often comes in the form of an unexplained and unmeetable demand from a vendor's attorney. This should never happen. When you incorporate a Vendor Complaint Policy into your contracts as a Contractual Adjudication Procedure, the dispute can be resolved before the demand letter comes. As a side benefit, if that legal threat does arrive in the mail before the Vendor exhausts the process, there is a chance that the resulting suit could be dismissed for failing to complete the contractual adjudication procedure.
